how to move my clams

ok I want to move my clams ? because I want to change my live rock , but all my clams will not come off the live rock ? what should I do????

You may want to try to annoy them enough that they detach bu pointing a power head toward them, shade them, etc.

It is always best to get them to detach by themselves, however, if all else fails, very carefull tug on the clam, without ripping him off the rock, until he gets tired of fighting you and releases his grip. Being carefull here is the operative word.

You have to pull him enough so you can see the byssal threads. Then get a sharp razor and carefully cut the closest part to the rock without touching the clams foot or byssal gland and it should be fine.
