How to move my Maxima?

I have a 3" maxima in my 55 which has been there for about 4 months. I'd like to relocate it to my new 110 tank. It is firmly attached to some LR and resists my gentle efforts to shake it loose. I certainly don't want to injure it trying to remove it but I don't want to put the rock it's on in the new tank because of majano anemones and possible flatworms on that rock.

How do I get it off of the LR it's attached to?

If you feel you have to remove it from the rock, then get a real sharp knife or better yet a razor blade and slightly move to clam to one side without putting much pressure on the clam and cut the thread closest to the rock and then do the other side the same way until he is releasted. Do not cut the byssal (footing)

The treads will be what is attached to the rock. The thread was liquid that when he came in contact with water it turned solid (thread)

This is what is known as the byssal.

Hope this helps.
