How to promote pods growth?

Hi guys, my new tank just finished its initial cycling. I used to have a lot of green stuff growing on my sand and rocks, and they suddenly are all gone within a couple of days, leaving only very faint brownish traces. The thing that worries me is that I can't fidn a single pod in my display tank, probably my fish ate them all, becasue I can see some in chaetos in my refugium. The question is how can I promote pods proliferation in the refugium, so they can become a constant food source for some fishes. My tank parameter looks pretty good, everything that's supposed to be zero is zero. I am afraid the tank water has just became a little too clean to provide enough food for these little creatures. Do I need to feed the pods regularly? What will they feed on?
By the way, anyone know what's the mating season for snails? Thanks.

You could try zooplex or phytoplex to try and feed the pods though I'm not exactly sure if they would eat it or not. My tank has pods and I don't know how I'm keeping them I haven't done anything special. Also I believe I read somewhere you can buy a lot of pods for fairly cheap to put in your tank to help start it off if you wanted.
