How to protect corals when removing rocks?

I just got a Dremmel tool for Christmas. The first thing I want to do is remove Xenia from the rock. I have SPS mounted on the rock and have pulled and pulled Xenia but it always comes back. I am going to grind the crap off, LOL! Has anybody done this? I am worried about the SPS being out of water while I grind the rock. Any suggestions?

SPS are tougher than you think..............

20-30 minutes out of water is fine.
