How to put in acrylic baffles?

Hey guys I have my acrylic sump running and had put some acrylic baffles in using silicone to hold it in place. I put a good amount of silicone in but surprisingly the baffle fell over the other day, and the water pressure was too much for the baffle to hold. So I was wondering if there was anything else I could use to hold the baffle in place?
Thanks

weld on 16 - although now your going to need to clean the silicone off for it to bond properly.

Do I put it on the same way I put on the silicone.

weld on 16 will bond the two pieces of acrylic together (think chemically melt), like model glue does if you have ever build plastic models.

You will need to be able to hold the baffle in place until it sets and as has been said the joint will be permanent.

Also you have to remove all of the silicone, I know you said you did but just want to be absolutely clear if any remains it will act as a barrier.

If you drip the weld on 16 onto another part of your sump just let it dry, if you wipe it, it will leave a permanent mark so be careful, mask off areas around where you will be working...

Your problem is that silicone will bond to glass but not to acrylic, you will need to use weldon as suggested, also the baffles will have to fit pretty close to perfect because you are not putting a thick bead of weldon on there like silicone

Some types of weather stripping are reef safe and can be used to wedge baffles in running sumps. It works really really well and can be moved and adjusted at any time. I'll try to take some pics of the stuff I used tonight after work

Acrylic sumps should have acrylic baffles and use weld-on to glue them. Glass sumps need glass baffles and silicon to glue them.

Would like to see this.

any chance we can get some pics or links to the weather stripping?

Yup. Sorry for the delay. I'll see it I can find it. I think the article I stole the idea will come up with a Google search

Home Depot in my area sells the correct weather stripping. It's a brilliantly simple concept.

This weather stripping idea, would it work if using acrylic baffles in a glass tank?

I have the tank and I have tons of acrylic pieces, so if I could use what I have would be great.

Thanks
