How to setup a 75g Refugium?

Hi all,

I purchased a 125g tank with a 75g refugium on Craigslist a few months ago and I have it setup with live rock and a few fish.... I still need to get a skimmer (I know, I know I should have gotten it a LONG time ago, just didn't have the $$$) Now I'm getting ready to possibly purchase the Aqueon Coralife Super Skimmer for 125g, but I'm not sure how or where to place it in my refugium.

I'm attaching a sketch of how my refugium is currently setup.


Any and all advice will be taken into consideration

Anyone have any placement suggestions for me??? Skimmer should be getting here in a few days but I'm still not sure where to place it in my refugium.

toss everything in the first chamber and toss in a skimmer.

if your bioload is light, just pull the bioballs and place the skimmer there. If more than a light bioload, take the bioballs out in 1/3's as to let the bacteria on the rock and sand increase in size to handle the load.

How long has it been setup? Is it going to be a reef or FOWLR? Has it cycled?
