How to ship anemones

I am wondering if someone could give me some instruction on how to properly ship an anemone and what supplies will be needed. Thanks in advance!

There are two schools of thought, and the jury is still out as to which is better: lots of water or barely enough water to keep the nem wet. Obviously, it would be cheaper to ship a nem with just a little water.

Talk to your LFS and see which they recommend -- it would probably be based on what they see come in from their wholesaler/exporter and the morality rate.

That said, what kind of nem are you trying to ship? Some will handle shipping better than others.

Haddoni carpet anemone, I work at the LFS sometimes and the anemones we get in have a decent amount of water in the bag

When I ship nems I only use water no air it's water tight it stops the nems from experiencing a washmachine affect in the plane and car ride this works especially good with carpet anemones and magnifica anemones when they arrive they are always inflated if they are a healthy Nem like they weren't even shipped also some anemones can get air trapped inside of them I've been seeing this a lot latley with gigs and mags it usually ends with the demise of the animal I recommend no air just water like you would ship gorgonians best of luck!
