how to suspend pendant

well its not a pendant, but a t5 fixture

my tank is frameless so Im going topless and need a way to suspend the lights...does anyone have any examples or suggestions for mounting this fixture?

from the ceiling is out of the question, IM not going to have chains or cables running to my ceiling

here is the fixture, it has dual eyebolts, which you can see at the top of the pic

this is only a 24" wide tank, so maybe something in the center would work

I have a Geisemann fixture and it hangs from the ceiling and is very sleek. I like it a lot. Very clean mounting. Barely even notice the cables. I'm sure you could find the mounting hardware if you decided to go that way. I have seen some brackets that mount to the wall and then hang the fixture from there but I didn't really like that method.

how do you secure things into the ceiling, do you have to find a stud?

Studs would probably be your best bet. Other wise go in your atic and nail in a cross member to the exsiting studs. That way if your fish tank is not centered under the studs you can at least use the cross member instead. If no attic space is available get a piece of solid would other than a 2x4, unless thats not to unsightly for you, and screw that into your studs. I would finish the wood, sand and stain, so that it wasn't an eyesore. Then you could mount your cables to eyelits that are secured into the finished wood. I have seen both done.

IM thinking about attaching a 2x4 vertically to the back of my stand and then connecting a triangle plant hanger or something to that...obviously the 2x4 will match the stand

I used what I think they call Lagg Bolts into the drywall. then there is a bolt that hangs from the ceiling that I attached the mounting hardware to. Its pretty strong and the fixture is lightweight. I'm not concerned about it at all. I'm very happy with the outcome. I believe you can find the same mounting hardware in lighting stores or even at Home Depot or Lowes.
