How to tell parasites in Toby Puffer?

Hi guys,

I've got a blue spotted coming in on Tuesday. I've got a 10g QT tank for him. I can have Formalin on hand (what concentration would be needed for treatment if needed???) in case he has parasites. How will I know if he does have parasites? I read that you can see them through the body, is this really true? Anyone have pics? How long should he stay in QT until I should be confident he's healthy?

What would you start with on feeding? Marine snails? Frozen krill? Fresh Shrimp from the market? Live clams?

OK, I've read a bunch, but tips are def helpful. I've never had one of these fish so I'm really excited, but a little nervous.

Thanks
Angela

p.s. so sorry that this is a double post. I posted in the other fish forum before I realized we had a specialized disease forum.

I would add that I would first get the puffer eating in quarantine. Once the puffer is eating, I would treat him with cupramine (my preference) or hypo for 3 weeks and prazipro for at least 1 week. You can combine treatments so you can add the prazipro during the last week of the three week treatment.

Thanks. I'll ditch this thread since you responded in the other (I replied to you there, too). Sorry again for the repost, glad to have gotten a reply in the wrong forum anyhow:)

Best,
Angela
