How to tell the difference between poisoning/ reaction vs panic attack?

Especially since symptoms of my panic attacks are tingling sensations, light headedness, dizziness, nausea, heart rate going up, hard time breathing, and some chest pain?

I have not had any bad reactions to regular polyps. The poisonus ones are the palys that spread quick. Thoes you really need to be careful of. I hear of people telling stories of touching regular polyps and having horrible reactions, but i think most are exadurated a bit. Still need to be very careful, everyone reacts differently to things and everyones body is different.
I handle polyps with no gloves everytime, and i always have bad cuts on my hands. I get slimed often and havent felt anything unpleasant. Thats just me though. I think a lot of the stories are of people who panic. But one guy i know personally inhaled the toxins from steam when he boiled rocks with the toxic palys on them. He was in the hospital for that and it was no joke. So just be careful. I think he experienced hard breathing and pain. Anxiety meds like xanax will help with anxiety and not paly poisoning, thats a good way to tell the difference, if your prescribed of course.

I know just what you mean about panic attack. The symptoms are the same as those we are warned about. I do not wear gloves when my hands are in the tank. I'm often rearranging or fussing with stuff. I try to grab the zoas rocks in areas where there are no zoas but sometimes that is not possible. I have given myself panic attacks. Then I have to remember that people who were hurt by zoas tried to frag them or kill them. When I move them they they close up but thats all. They are not disturbed. So I watch a show while willing myself to calm down and it works.

definitely agree with piper when he says everyone is different and reacts different. ive never used gloves for any corals or anemones and worst reaction ive had was slight tingle and warmth in my fingertips. then, i ask my girlfriend to add some zoa and paly frags to my tank when i was at work and she accidently brushed her hand against my BTA and her hand swelled up after a few minutes like if she was stung by a bee.

Better safe then sorry if you dont know how youll react. PPE all the way
