I have no problems using the kit other than trying to get the final reading. It tells you to hold the syringe upside down to get the proper reading. When holding the syringe upside down, what side of the black part are you supposed to use to get your reading? Is it the side closest to the liquid or the other side?

The side closest to the liquid. You need to determine the remaining amount of liquid in the syringe after the color change and match that number up to the numbers in the chart to determine the amount of Mg.
