when setting up my first 60 gal salt water tank... i jumped right into it, no research... with only the help of my LFS, (NIGHTMARE*!),and lost more livestock then i care to count... that tank now sits in my living room with about 20 lbs of LR, 3 yellow tail Damsels, 1 CB shrimp... and PLENTY of PODS :p ...

my 2nd tank (current tank) is in my bedroom... 100 gall standard... center overflow... corner returns... sump + refug... 260 watt CORALIFE PC... about 40-50 lbs LR...

lets say YOU were in charge of setting up a 100 gall cube... how would YOU set this tank up? what would YOU do FROM THE START that you wish YOU would have done BEFORE you even put water in that sucka :p... would YOU prefer a center over flow or 2 corners... drilled or not drilled... what kind of pump would you run... sump or no sump... refug, or not... lighting... ball valves? how high would your stand be, and why...what about your canopy...would you have a colored background or prefer a clear one, and why...what would YOU do with YOUR new tank BEFORE you poured a drop of water in it .

Thanks for YOUR help :D

ps
YOU only want FOWLR and a bunch of Softies/Lps.... :p

Thecoolist setup for a cube I have seen was drilled for drain and returns up through the center of the bottom of the tank. All the plumbing was concealed by a rock island. I think it had a 4 way for the returns. No plumbing was visible at all.

WOW...that sounds like a great set-up... was this all done in a glass or acrylic... the cube im getting is glass, as i just found out =)
