How's This for Wetlands Restoration

My favorite part of the story... "The car ran for 10-12 minutes before gurgling to a stop..."

Can you believe this!!! There MAY have been a chance at some sort of salvaging from it, but since he didn't even turn it off!!! What an idiot!

Actually leaving your engine running will keep the water out of the engine as long as the intake is above the waterline. When the engine shuts off water will siphon back into the engine through the exhaust from back pressure. Ever see a Land rover or Jeep with a huge pipe sticking out of the topside of the hood?

The story is old news, if you follow the car world this story made global news since there are less than 15 copies of this automobile in the states.

Best part of the story from what I had been told is that the cars owner owns a business that specializes in the repair of exotic cars. So if the story is correct, his insurance will pay him to repair his own car much over his own cost and he also got his name and companies name advertised to the world. You cant put a price on advertising like that. That said that’s what I was told so I cannot back up the story.

I used to live near there...(Galveston)...I'm not sure how 'accidentally' you do this. Of course, after the hurricanes about a year ago, everyone's struggling a little. He's probably very used to doing water repairs at this point!
