How's this possible?

I was wondering how this baby starfish has grown in my tank. I've had the tank for a year and have never put one in. Any clues?? Thanx guys

hitchhiker. on a coral, rock live sand. it could have been in from the beginning. it looks pretty small so you most likely in the past couple of months weeks

Probably an Asterina, probably came in as a hitchhiker.

I have a couple of those in my tank that has been up for 3 years. They stay small from what I have noticed.

I had an explosion of them on my 50g breeder. 100s of em. They did start eating my zoanthid. Got a harlequin shrimp and took care of them.
