HQI Bulbs

I am currently using the Aqualight HQI light fixture on my reef tank. Do the bulbs need to be replaced regularly like compact fluorescents (spectrum gets weak) or do I continue to use HQI bulbs until they burn out! Thanks for the help!

Replace them every 12 months. If you have a light meter, you could test them and replace as needed.
