HQI don't last as long as SE?

Was just told that HQI bulbs don't last as long as SE bulbs... is this true?

no not true. SE bulbs on an HQI ballast don't last as long though.

Also as is obvious there are more and less unstable bulbs (both SE and DE) that will affect user experiences.

phew... I was gonna say, spent moremoney on something that wouldn't last as long would suck.

I have 250-watt 10,000K DE AB bulbs in PFO Minis that have been running for 5 Ã"šÃ‚½ hours a day for 16 months. Every once in a while I check them with a PAR meter to ensure there isnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t a significant decrease in intensity. Last time I checked (about a week ago) they were still going strong. Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m counting on them lasting for somewhere around two years before they need to be changed.
