MH users-

What bulb or temperature bulbs are you running on your zoa/paly tanks?

Reflectors, ballest, bulb, ect?


I am currently running 250w Icecap electronic ballasts in Lumen brite reflectors w/ 14k HexArk Blue DE bulbs. I think its too much light, my zoas are very pastel colored and loosing some color.



My tank is very low PO4 and NO3,, but get overfeed daily. I am thinking its more a light intensity issue over a nutrient issue I may be dealing with.

Tank is 26" deep x 18" wide



Not overstocked on fish, but have a good handfull in the tank.

Thinking some 20k's might be better for me as far as growth and health of my polyps...


Not to mention their looks. My polyps are very pastel, somewhat bleached looking.....I think its light intensity.
