HQI vs. DE

Hi all -

I purchased a generic halide fixture off ebay a while back and the bulb has since died and i need to replace it. The auction listed the fixture as HQI, but when I look at the bulb here is what is inscribed on it:

HIT-DE
150W 1400K

I was always a single-ended guy so what is the difference between HQI and DE? Which kind of bulb should I use to replace the burnt out one? Thanks!

HQI is a kind of bulb marketed by Osram a couple of years ago.
DE = double ended.
Most people associate HQI with double-ended bulbs.
Don't worry about it too much, just make sure the bulb you buy is DE.
