Once you get that big, isn't there a more efficient way to do it, rather than umpteen little becketts?

Seems like a huge waste of electricity to me....That thing will require a rediculous amount of pumps to run it. I think I will stick with my needle wheels :)

My call to Ocean Werx ..............
Do you make it in a "hang on tank" version ??? How much room do I need behind my tank to mount it ??? What.............about 4 feet !!!
Later..........Herbie

LOL, wouldn't the corresponding NW version have to be like 3 ft tall and 12 ft wide?

duh...

does it look like its for reefers like us? of course it is for commercial use.

what i heard is that it is for a shrimp farm in Thailand. Not too sure where though.

Of course not, but the Sander Helgoland, RK, and Commercial H&S skimmers would be better choices in regards to efficiency.

H&S uses needlwheels while sander and Rk uses venturis. if i am not wrong, becketts are also venturis right? maybe needlwheel might be less power hungry but for venturis to work properly, i think they need high power pumps too.

can't comment on the efficiency though. this big skimmer uses 2 sets of 1HP centri pumps, i bet it sucks at least 800w per pump. no description given on the pumps too.

i can't seem to find any description on RK skimmers and the pumps they use. anyone can direct me? perhaps we can do some comparison here on the commercial skimmers instead of our standard skimmers.

You think that thing is big? Omg you should see the ones run at the Aquarium of the Pacific down here in Long Beach, CA. They're between 15-20ft high! And yes they have a few of them. Things of beauty!

In my opinion, this is huge enough. The next best i've seen would be those in Coral Farm (Singapore), setup by RK2 system. Each skimmer stands about 15ft too. guess its the same model that we are looking at...
