Huge Nudibranch

Well after 3-4 months of nothing, I found a huge Nudibranch munching on my green monti. Just noticed some white areas on the cap last night so I blew it off with a turkey baster and off came a Nudibranch which I was able to suck up. I should of taken a picture because I swear it was at least 3/16.

I did add a small cap frag a month ago which I didn't dip. It came from Copp, very reputable, with the shipping and long delay getting it in my tank I didn't want to stress the corals anymore.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to get any of my caps out of the tank without breaking everything.

Looks like the turkey baster and toothbrush will have to be enough.

We beat the Monti eating nudis over here many years ago.
They must have hitch-hiked in on something.... who knows... speculation is useless, and I have no use for blaming anyone. (I use coral dip nowadays).
Anyways, I kept the incident to myself.

What's kewl is... the biodiversity in my aquarium helped TOTALLY eliminate the nudis. Primary nudi preds (IMO) were Macropharyngodon, Chelmon rostratus and Chaetodon kleinii.

I would load up on the "right kinds" of Wrasses. Good luck. Those nudis can reproduce very quickly. Move quickly.

Would definitely like to add a wrasse for that purpose just heard a few that can be a real pain.

I will check out your suggestions

I have just one in my system. I never bought it and it's big at about an inch sq. It's nothing to look at really color wise. Just a mottled gray. No idea what it eats as the corals are fine. I'll find it in the filter sock and I take it out and put it back in the DT or the sump only to find it in the sock again a few days later. God only knows how it make it past the pumps.

I have a melanarus (Hoeven's) wrasse. He is full of personality, friendly with all tank mates, and a voracious eater. I've never had a problem with pests, but I do think he wreaks havoc on my pod population.
