HUGE reef maintenance morning here

I finally have a Litermeter up and running. I've wanted one for 19 years! Thanks, Brian.
Why they divide the dosages up into 120 parts per day I have yet to discover... if anybody knows why please let me know..
ideally, I'd like it to dose kalkwasser ONLY at night.
I fixed my float valve auto shutoff problem thanks to you know who you are!
AND I'm doing a complete changeout of my RO membrane and prefilters.

Now.. if I could just finish all my other chores and holiday stuff.

Hey- if you don't get a Christmas card from me this year it doesn't mean I wasn't thinking of you! :wavehand:

I'm doing a bunch of maintenance as well. Water changes in my reef, breeding system, and rotifer culture. Siphoning of gunk in the breeding system, and I was thinking of making some more DIY food this afternoon. Time to clean all the powerheads with a good vinegar soak as well.

Definitely long overdue for a tank day.

I'm definitely in winter maintenance mode. I took apart and cleaned all of my true unions and pumps last week. My true unions were so bad that I could barely turn them. This weekend I've done some of the standard stuff, but also cooking a few months worth of alkalinity part.

I decided to spend some time with my hands in the tank today too. It started off as just doing a good job of cleaning the glass... then I decided to move some corals around... then had a partial collapse of my rock work.. then decided to re-aquascape the entire tank! I love how these small jobs turn into large half day events.

I tried the two island approach, but wasn't sure if I liked it or not. So I added small bridge connecting them. I am going to spend a day or two staring at it and try to decide.

Dave
