Ive had two cleaner shrimp in my tank for about 4 months...There great, they eat out of my hand and come out for hours a day...
Well today i noticed that they have black splotches starting covering there body's. I never notice this prier to today but it seems that the splashes are almost completely covering one and has spreed to the other... Should i be concerned??? I am very attached to these guys and would hate to lose them to a fixable problem! Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Yeah, my two seem to get those same blotches right around where all the legs connect. But it goes away after they molt. Yours seem to have alot of that stuff. I noticed that when I had one of those cleaners, it didn't get that. But then I bought another, and the other one got it too.

huh..i have never seen this stuff before...i have no idea what it is..the stuff just appeared in a day or two...hopefully it goes a way!

Seeing that jogged my memory and it may be this:

Taura Syndrome Virus - TSV is primarily an illness of the cuticle epidermis (outer exoskeleton) in shrimp. Shrimp in the chronic phase of TSV have scattered, black-spot lesions along their outer skin or shell. Once infected, the disease is fatal. The removal of any infected shrimp would be advised in order to minimize the risk potential to other shrimp. There is no known treatment for this disease.

There are a dozen or so different brown/black spot conditions that have been described in shrimp. They've been attributed to everything from mechanical damage, poor nutrition, viruses, fungus, etc. Most of them are poorly studied and difficult to treat. These guys are short lived anyway, so while it will probably be fatal, their lives probably won't be shortened much.
