Humidity control solutions?

I am in the process of converting the one unfinished room in my house (the furnace/waterheater/storage room) into a breeding/general fish project room. I already have a few tanks up and running with some pairs of fish in them (this will be changed as I build the more permanent shelves).

The next issue I really need to tackle is humidity. What humidity solutions are recommended and work well? Sheetrock from the other rooms is exposed as well as the ceiling is still open to the braces/floor boards.

Any ideas?

two things you want to do.

1. contain the humidity within that room.
Use a moisture barrier to keep the room separate from the rest of the house.

2. Move the humidity out of the room, with bathroom vent fans, or a heat exchanger

Heat Recovery Ventilator is best from what i read, I currently use dehumidifier but plan on going with a HRV in the future.

hvr is the way to go if you have the extra $$$!!! a de-humidifier is good too. i use a portable a/c with the "dry" mode option for the winter and a/c on 74 in the summer. stays dry and stable 74-76 year round !!!!! If you build a room with your furnace hot w heater etc. MAKE SURE! you have a hard wired (CO) detector dont take chances with battery one's. CO is a silent killer and all those appliences give off plenty of CO

Best money I ever spent, no more wet ceilings. Plus I really like the fresh air coming in all winter long. I will have one in my house from now on even if I do not have a fish tank.
