Humidity/evaporation question

What would be considered a "normal" range for humidity inside the house? At what point does the humidity inside the house start causing problems?

My house runs around 30% right now(just started checking it) and I'm planning on adding a 600 gallon system to my basement and I'm a little concerned about the effects of the moisture/evaporation. The basement has a large volume of airflow and no moisture problems at all right now. The basement and the 1st floor are on the same central unit and the air intake pulls the air from the basement and spreads it throughout both floors.

I have read some of the horror stories on here about moisture problems with large tanks and I am hoping to solve this before it gets to the "horror" stage. :0)

my 1k system keeps my house at 45% I was told 55 should be max and at 60 your in trouble long term.

Thanks!

Sounds good. Besides, if it really became a problem, I guess I could always cover the sump and fuge, then use a chiller if needed. Wouldn't that work?

That would work but you may also need to increase air exchange with the outside not only to improve on the humidity but also to maintain good fresh air CO2 free (PH issues) around the tank
