Hurt mantis

In the process of catching a mantis shrimp in my tank, I think I broke one of his (clubs?, or bashers? or whatever). I don't want to kill him. Do you think it will grow back, or should I put him out of his misery? Anyone?

If he's otherwise healthy, it will grow back when he/she molts. It may take more than one molt. Iodine supplements sometimes encourage molting.

don;t put any more iodine than you really should. iodine encourages molting by being an irritant to the crustracean shell. If you irritate it too much it may shed it faster than it should and it could lose the other dactyl. just put the recommended amount and at the recommended times
