hydor heater

What do I need to do to get a new barb? Every time I walk in to buy stuff I'm told to contact you, is this good enough contact? Should I call, come in, what do I need to do? I started asking you guys months ago......DC

The only part I can think of that you can replace is the blue nut futting on there. The barb itself is molded to the heater, so if that is broken off it would not be replaceable. I do have the blue nut shipping to me from Hydor though. It should be here in just a few days.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for responding. I have talked to two folks at Premium about this and been trying to get the part for several months. The part I need comes in 2 sizes, 1/2" and 5/8". I need the 5/8" barb. The barbs are interchangeable on the heater and can be easily replaced by removing the screws and splitting the heater body. I do not know why these these barbs are not available, the way the heater is packaged lends to easy breakage. Again I appreciate your assistance, I have had absolutely no luck contacting Hydor, I guess they are putting all the responsibility on the retailer for customer service.......DC

Hi,

With the price point of these I'm assuming they just don't readily stock replacement parts. If it was something that was a couple hundred dollars they most likely would, but with it only being $45 total cost, they most likely do not see a big need for replacement parts of the product, as is the same with most other companies in this industry with items around the same price point.

I will wait to see what I get in here in a few days and we'll go from there. I know for sure that the little blue nut is coming, but not 100% sure if they are shipping me any of the barbs or not.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I got in a package, but it is the blue compression nut only. I spoke with them again, and was told that the barbed fittings were not available. I apologize. If you do need to purchase a new one I can get you one at our cost, just let me know.

Thanks,
Jeremy
