I know there not the top of the line powerheads on the market, but Im not rich so. Do you guys think they are a good powerhead though? How about on a wave controling device that turns them on/off or adjusts the flow of them? I know Ive seen some cheap powerheads burn out in a week turning them off an on. Thanks in advance

My opinion....
For the price they are great little pumps. They don't cost that much more than a MaxiJet 1200, but they move a lot more water, come with Magnet attachment, have a suction cup on the end to hold it in place while attaching the magnet, have a wide flow distribution, can be placed near the surface of the water without sucking in air(Seios are terrible with that) and they just look cool.

I can't comment on the wave makers since I haven't tried it.

I would suggest to you try one. 35.00 for the model 2 that moves 600 gph using 4.5watts of power. That's hard to beat.

I run 2 #2's and 2 #1's on a on/off wave maker for 3 months and have not had a problem, I have 2 more #1's coming, I think they are the best value for the price.

Why would a suction cup fail??????!!!!!!, If it gets a cut in it so it cannot seal or the glass is not clean to make a seal. It is there just to help seat it until you get the magnet in place. IMO.

I love these PHs they are PITA to clean sometimes but they are well worth the money. I've got 2 X #3s on the SPS tank and 2 X #4s on the LPS tank. I may switch them around the #4s are a little too much flow for the LPS. No wavemaker.

I used to run 2 AC PHs in the SPS tank the day I switched to the Koralias I unplugged the first AC and out popped my lawnmower blenny breathing hard and thanking Poseidon for the Koralias

I use (2) #3s in my 60g and love it. It gives me enough flow for my mixed reef without breaking the bank.

The suction/magnet combo works well. I can reposition the powerhead using the suction and lock it in place with the magnet. Somtimes, I can't always reach the powerhead and magnet at the same time when repositioning.

The Korallia powerhead is not made to be used with a controller from what I understand. I looked into this and was advised not to do it as there might be a problem during the restart.

Umm, remember MJ's and similar powerheads before the koralias and seios came out? Suction cups always fail over time, and then the powerhead ends up falling off the glass. I guess I'm just confused because I've never used a Koralia. So the suction cup connects it to the magnet? I still don't get why the suction cup won't fail like they always do eventually.

The suction cup works in conjuction with the magnet. It's actually a good idea and works well.

IMO....

They are prety good pumps, they move a lot of water, low energy consumption, sharp lookin'. However...

Don't put these on anything larger than a 125, the magnets will never hold through the glass, and comparatively to the magnets and maneuverability of a Tunze stream pump, they don't stack up. The Tunzes are much better, but for the price, pretty damn good.
