Hydor Koralias powerheads

Anyone use or heard of good reviews on these? The magnet hold for the glass seems nice so there won't be anymore suction cups on the glass and also a 1200 GPH koralia is 8.5 watts while a 1100 seio is 21w and the 1500 at 34w.

These koralias are looking more nice as to energy efficient.

Anyone know if they are durable and hold up, or how to make them last for a long time? I have never done maintenance on my seio right now, should there be maintenance done on powerheads?

Thanks.

I use them on a seio multicontroller and love them. They are walking circles around my seio's and are much quieter also...ohhh...and no restart issues!

Not to mention 49.99! I like mine, no problems, the only thing i would suggst to them is to make stronger magnet's. They are kinda weak on a 125g.

49.99? I found it at 59.99, can you say which store this is by chance? Thanks!

I think I will get 1-2 of these powerheads then instead of upgrading the seios.

Are tunze actually worth the money or is it better to just get more of these hydors?

I ordered one last week (if you are talking about the circulation pump) and I love it so much that I just ordered another one. They are fairly new, so I will have to see as time goes by how durable they are. The magnet really holds well through my acrylic. Petsolutions just got these in and they are on sale. Check their website.

You can get them at premium aquatics for 49.99 for the 4 and aquarium connection for the same.

I like my 2 4s too great pumps, I don't have a problem with the magnets on my 125 it's enought to hold them plus they are like a magnet/suction cup combination. When I remove the magnet to take the pumps out for cleaning they still stuck to the glass.

I have a #3 on my 75gal sps tank. I'll add another soon because I love the first one so much! Very nice looking, good flow, quiet... My only "problem" is that I had to actually put my finger on the impeller the first time and push it a little bit to get it spinning. Not sure why that was, but other than that it's been awesome. I'm not sure about it starting after a power outage or anything like that, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I'm betting the manual turning of the impeller to get it running was a freak one-time thing.

But, to sum it up, they seem awesome. I'm very impressed.

I've been running two 3's on my 75g for about six weeks. Great flow, quiet and adjustable. So far, I'm very impressed with their price/performance ratio.

I know everyone seems to like these pumps but I just replace two Koralia 3's after a week because they were too loud. I already had a Tunze 6000 stream on a controller and added the Koralias both made a distinct hum that you could clearly hear from the glass while the Tunze stream made no noise at all.

I just installed another Tunze 6060 (non-controllable) and eveything is dead quiet again. The Tunze Stream was $129.00 for 1,800 gph and the two koralia 3s were $100. I'd gladly shell out the $30 for silence.

This is just my $0.02 and I know everyone has diferent thresholds on noise but if you are sensitive to noise then these may not be the pump for you.

remove prop/ magnet over bowl (so you do not look any parts; yes I have) then clean prop with brush or vinegar. clean screen etc.

My korilia 3 had same start up problem the first time out of box........I am hoping it was a shipping thing ? I restarted it a few times in tank to make sure not constant problem....no noise though.....had to look for small waves to know it was running.
