Hydroid Pests Id?

I have these small small white round body with 5 tentacles things on my glass in my tank. Almost looks like a spider. I use my mag float to easily sweep them off but they come back almost immediately. They started as a few but in the last week have developed into alot.

I'm not sure what they are. I tried to get a picture but the camera could not focus on them because they are so small. I don't have a macro lens. I'm not even sure they are alive or what. The tank isn't hasn't been setup that long.

The corals and water test fine and look fine. But those little suckers are very noticeable on the glass. I'll try to figure out a way to get a picture.

Any ideas on what they are? Getting tired of swiping the glass clean to view the tank ;)

if you are using a point and click set the mode to macro, then find something to rest the camera on that lines up - should be able to get a few inches away. if focus doesn't work change to manual. set the time delay feature to take a picture.

Found these pictures on the web and they are exactly like them... Hydroids? Mini Jelly fish? Good bad?

Yeah those are hydroids but they aren't to truely detrimental type. Colonial hydroids are an amazing PITA

Only have then and see them on the glass. Probably have close to 500 or so.

Been trying to research them and am getting conflicting answers. Some articles say leave them alone and they will go away. Not sure how that would happen.

Some articles say to get a peppermint shrimp. Would a peppermint shrimp eat off the glass?

I had something very similar although not nearly as many, maybe 10 that just went away on their own. I did not notice anything detrimental in the tank but they were not around very long maybe a month or so.

Well in a 25 gallon Cube I can rule out a Tang ;). So I'll pick up one pep in the am and give him a try. Thanks for the help all...
