Hydroid ?

I have several colonies of hydroids, the little nasty brown ones, on some of my live rock. I removed several of the rocks and pulled most of them off with a tweezer. I then used a small torch to burn the areas to make sure they wouldn't come back. One rock is completely covered and I was going to leave the rock out of the tank to kill them. Should I leave it in freshwater or let it dry out? How long will it take to kill them?

Here's what I have:

if u can take the LR they're on ouy, then do so and boil it. that will for sure kill them. i just did this a week ago. i had a few on another section of LR which i couldn't take out. i injected them w/ a mix of boiling water and kalk while in tank.

Boiling will surely kill the hydroids ....... and the rock!
That's ok. That rock is about 3lbs out of the 100 or so lbs in the tank. It will be live again soon enough.
