Anyone used this light? Only 2 reviews on Amazon and they’re both 5 star. Thinking they might be a cheap option for a frag tank.

No, but I had a look and seemed quite nice. Good spectrum mix but only 50watts.
Can’t beat that price. Need 1 for every 2x2 square.

I use 150 watts over a 4x2x10” frag tank, about 16” off the surface, as a reference.

I’ve got a Zoomed 50 gallon lowboy frag (48”x24”x10”) tank I’ll be setting up so, I think a couple of those will fit the bill.

I guess my Amazon foo is no good. I can’t find that light anywhere lol

I did find it on Hyggers site though and looks like they have a 12% off sale currently

That said looks to be a decent basic light. Not a fan of the lack of controllability (looks like just 3 spectrum modes and 5 brightness levels)

Yeah, but I was thinking I don’t need a lot of functionality for frag tank.

Sadly, OceanRevive is out of business or I would push you that route. I have had great luck and success with those fixtures. Finding cheaper Chinese these days seems harder then it used to be. Have you looked into the viparspectra lights? I have seen many using those and worth a look. I will be looking at those as an option in the future. I like the AI lights, but that price hurts compared to what I used to pay in the past.

I have an Ocean Revive on loan from a friend in case I need it as a backup. He has another, I’m sure I could buy them from him if I wanted. There’s also several local on FB marketplace but they’re asking too much for them.

I’m looking to go cheap but, good quality, with ramp up / ramp down ability for the frag tank.

Honestly, im not too sure about buying them used. You never know how long they have been used for at this point and when they go bad, finding replacement parts might be an issue. Mine have lasted a long time and I have a full replacement light sitting aside to repair my others if needed.

I’m found a local selling one for $20. Seller says works perfect. All others I’ve seen listed are in the $100-$200 range. I’m skeptical of this $20 one😉

I don't blame you, but $20 is cheap enough to check out. Even if you get 1 year of use out of it, possibly worth the money until you find something better.

I reached out within minutes of him posting it for sale and he simply responded, “Sold.”
