Hypermelanization on my clown?

Reefmack

In Memoriam
Hi. The smallest of my juvenile clowns has developed a brownish, irregular shaped spot on one side. It doesn't appear to be raised like an ich spot would be. I did some searching and found a post that seemed to indicate this is probably just "hypermelanization" and is nothing to worry about. This clown is only a bit over an inch long, eats well, swims & waddles along with his "spouse" of about an inch and a half, and acts perfectly normal. The suspected female is fine & has no spots. This is the best picture I could get of a moving target:

Verdict? Nothing to worry about I'm hoping!

Thanks,
Terry

That is what it appears to be. My old female had a similar spot for the last 8 years of her life, except it was positioned bordering the anal fin.

i heard that it happens alot when they host with diffrent things other than anemones... mine has it he hosts in some zoas

Thanks. I thought I remembered something about hosting with zoas, but I wasn't sure. I have no anemones, but do have a lot of zoas. I'm not sure he's been hanging out with any of them, but I can't watch him 24/7 - need to work so I can support my reef addiction.
