Hyposalinity and Macroalgae-- Smart or Not?

Hi everyone,

I currently have a really bad ich outbreak in my 180 gallon FOWLR. To add insult to injury, the fish who have it the worst cannot be placed in a qt tank because they're all rather large. I have a vlamingi tang (who will be moved when he gets bigger) ((10")), princess parrotfish((8")), indian trigger((5")), goldenheart trigger((5")),dogface puffer((7")),and assorted chromis. All fish are still eating very well. Soaking their food in selcon. So yeah, I was going to take a majority of the LR out, to prevent a relatively large ammonia spike. However, in my 75 gallon refugium, I have caulerpa and other macros. Is hypo bad for them? I remember reading that it'll make them go into their "sexual" stages or whatever. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone could give me some tips about hypo, that'd be appreciated too. Thank you so much!!
