I am in dire need of some entertainment

Ok, so today I have to work the emergency shift at the College of Vet Med's teaching hospital from 12:30 - 5:00. Since I'm a scholar and not actually a vet student I can't do anything...can't restrain dogs, draw blood, give vaccines, nothing. There are no emergencies for me to watch and everybody is pretty much sitting around. I cannot leave, the computer is my only source of entertainment. SLASH is dead today...start posting something already! What are everybody's plans for this summer? I don't care what you say, just engage in a conversation! The only vocalization that's going on in this ICU is a chihuahua (spelling?) with a full body cast whining because he wants to be held. I can't hold him...he might rip the cast off and bite me

All three pets, Bogie, Earnie and Georgie are sleeping today, plus the wife, Ann, is sleeping all day...that leaves me on the computer because I am lazy....I did mud a few holes downstairs, but aside from that, this has been a lazy day.

I am looking forward to getting the drywall work done downstairs and the plumbing for the bar done. If/when Lost Marbles is up to snuff, he can demonstrate bar-making 101 :D

I am going to have to sell some homes before I can finish buying the few drygoods I need and to get the 800lbs of liverock.

That is my day so far.

Bogie>>>>16 week Tibetan Mastiff, starts kindergarten this coming Monday night...specializes in eating shoes.

Earnie>>>>3 year old adopted cat that looks like "Morris"....specializes in stalking Georgie.

Georgie>>>>4 year old English Budgie....specializes in being sick in the Bird ICU most of the time, now he is well and talking all the time again.

Here's my menagerie:
Daisy: my sister's Quarter horse cross mare, pregnant, due next spring

Silver: my dad's Foxtrotter cross mare, pregnant with a mule :D due next spring

Ellie: my mom's paint filly...almost a year old, hates my guts with a passion (I was the one that led her away from her mom at the sale barn)

Pride: my little longeared buddy (mule) He's awesome! Mules are SO much better than horses :D

Rocky: I co-own him with a friend of mine, he's a miniature horse that stands ~30" at the withers. We bought him at an exotic animal auction and brought him home in my car, a scion tC. You should've seen the looks we got from people!

Missy: beagle mix of some sort, barn dog extraordinare, escape artist

Hunter: Steve's favorite, Missy's brother but you'd never know it, he looks more like a boxer mix of some sort with a really square head. He's a duckling and chick eater and not particularly my favorite dog...he's my sister's

Tigger, Smokey, Emmy, Jax, Jenna: barn kitties! They are fat and lazy and prefer to hang out in our garage and try to sneak in the house when a door opens

Sugar: ~20 lb cat, super lazy, cross-eyed siamese/himalayan mix, indoor kitty #1

Spice: thinner than Sugar but still plump, likes to sunbathe on my parents' bed and attempt to open the cabinet door to get to treats, indoor kitty #2

Alex: million dollar ex barn cat. He used to be a family friend's mouser in his garage until the friend ran over him with a tractor. Ended up with a diaphragmatic hernia and had to have several surgeries to save his life. Second diaphragmatic hernia surgery my vet had ever done, first one died...this cat really does have nine lives and has spent 8.9 of them. He is a younger kitty and likes to try to get the older ones to play with him, only to get completely OWNED by them  He completely adores Lucy and they play constantly. He likes to try and sneak out the doors, indoor kitty #3

Lady: my dad's dog, lab mix of some sort, most obedient dog you'll ever meet, loves to play frisbee, is getting up in age (8), guards the other dogs when everybody goes outside at night

Sophie: my sister's dog, maltese, momma to anything and everything, including foals (baby horses), this dog is terrified of me and likes to pee when she's scared/being submissive

Annie: pomeranian, technically my dog but really likes my mom, Sophie's best friend, likes to clean ears and eyes of dogs, cats, etc, has a SUPER long tongue and double canine teeth on the top and bottom, barks like there is no tomorrow

Lucy: toy poodle, my mom's dog, just a pup. Really likes Alex, they're practically inseperable. Chases a laser but is too stupid to follow it if it goes under something, my mom's little angel, this dog can never do anything wrong, even if it means chewing up the carpet

Serena, Sakari, Simon, Stewart: my sugar gliders, like to sleep a lot, pretty friendly. Sakari just had two joeys come out of pouch. Interesting little animals

Miko, Moka, Molly: my rattie girls! They're super friendly. Molly is the one whose face is falling off, the other two are perfectly healthy. Miko and Moka I handraised from little babies, Molly I saved from a snake cage. All three love anything that is food, come when called.

Louie: my genius African Grey parrot. Quite the talker, adores me and hates almost everyone else (Steve's been able to get close to him though!) I miss this guy SO much...I can't have him in the dorms with me :(

Tanner: my sister's Senegal parrot, VERY noisy, likes to scream when he sees me, annoying.

Nik: my coatimundi, likes my dad and I, hates my mom and sister. Pretty aggressive guy, I dont recommend these as pets, but I've got him and it's my responsibility to care for him and give him the best life possible

I think that's everybody...I've got a few fish tanks too, two saltwater and one fresh. If I forget anybody I'll add them later

Georgie has over 50 words and many, many phrases down...he is a pretty good talker! He has been near death twice now though and for a $20 bird, has cost us well over $1000 in medical bills.

This last time, we were giving him IM antibiotic injections twice a day in his breast, giving him Lactated Ringers via injections down by his leg/wing area being careful not to puncture one of his air sacs which would kill him. He was so sick that he burned his head on his heat lamp and now has a big nickel-sized bald spot on top of his crown. Also, we were giving him ointment to that burn on his head, then we were giving him carafate by beak for his severe GI infection...he was a madhatter by the time we got done doing that to him twice a day...he is much better now.

My next bird is going to be a Blue Crown Conure.

Oh, we just lost our pet "Chelsey" about two months ago...she was a beagle-poodle mix. She looked like a black beagle and was the love of our life...the last year she was really slowing down though and had to wear a diaper dt incontinence of urine and stool. Ann did most of the diaper work:D She was the biggest hound you have ever seen when it came to eating and begging.

Kind of wierd that you are Chelsey too....:D

Holy Post Editing...when I glanced at it the first time you just had a pregnant horse...now look at it:eek1:

That is quite the animal list...I hope you live on a farm somewhere!! How old is your African Grey? What do you think of the Senegal's?

Louie is about 4 I think...I've had him since he was 8 months old. Tanner is a talker and is colorful, but that bird hates me and I hate him, so I'm not the best to ask

The possum is Nik, my coatimundi...actually a South American Raccoon

I'm being lazy too toady, just got done watching the game and now that I made some room on the couch my beagle, Sandy, is up next to me while I'm on my laptop.

She has similar makings to your Missy
