The move is ON!!!

In 10 waaaaayyyyyyy-tr-friggin short days I will be arriving in Orlando with my tank and inhabitants (hopefully all still alive) in tow!

The current plan is to arrive at our new house early afternoon on Sunday June 10th.

When we arrive I will need help with the following:
1. Moving the 125 (glass, weighs a ton) and stand into the house.
2. Moving the sump under the stand
3. Running the plumbing from sump to DT (PVC, 1" & 1-1/4")
4. Setup of equipment (mainly finding all components and assembly)
5. Replacing rockwork (I can get this but another pair of eyes and hands makes things easier)
6. Most importantly, I NEED Pre-mixed & aged RO/DI water at SG ~1.025 , around 50 gallons worth. I personally use Red Sea Coral Pro salt, but whatever you are willing to donate will work (al long as it is RO/DI)

If anyone can help out with one or all of these, I would really appreciate it.

We will also have a few things to move in while I work on the tank so 20 minutes of lift & move help would also be appreciated (got a bed to move, a few boxes, ect). The movers will be coming later in the week with most of our stuff so only the "essential" stuff is coming down, like fish & corals!!!!!!

If anyone can help, PLEASE let me know!!!

We are looking foward to moving down there and hopefully can get to know a few of you. I found the Chicago RC club just in the past few months unfortunately as they are a great bunch. Hope you guys/gals are the same!

For all who help, I will throw a small gathering (party) with plenty of food & beverages once all our stuff arrives and we get settled in. There will be some pizza and beer on the actual move day as well. Or if you prefer, I can frag out a few corals for you once the tank is up and running!

Thanks!

Afternoon works for me. I might be able to help out another Chicago native(Deerfield/Highland Park here). I have something wrong with my neck and haven't been able to move at all for the last week, but it is feeling a little better today. I should be able to help out with some of the stuff you need to move(on the lighter side so I don't reaggrevate my neck). Things like the stand/canopy and some furniture shouldn't be too bad though...

I'll be more than happy to help out, I can make a handful of gallons of salt, not 50 probably around 20ish is all I have buckets for.

I can lend a hand for a few hours if I can find someone to watch my daughter. I can make up some water in any case.

where in orlando are you moving? orlando is huge
Yea, but not compared to Chicagoland!

We are moving just SW of the International airport, just south of 417 and east of Orange Ave. The street is Meadow Pond Way.

jsl6ve, that is 20 gallons that I need. Only like 30 more to go. thanks!

sttaylor, how old is your daughter? How much water can you donate?

Thanks for the offers everyone!

I might be able to help you out with moving and salt, it depends on how much schoolwork I have due then. In any case, you should probably post your actual address so that people can know exactly how far you live from them and can give you more of a heads up on whether or not they can help.

1915 Meadow Pond Way, Orlando 32824

If you mapquest it, you will get there. GoogleEarth will get you to the right street, but wrong house.

MrsSmith, PM replied to!

I can make all of the water you would need, but I can't transport it all. I can bring 20-25 gallons.

I love the area you live in...close enough to the parks to be able to make a night of it, but far enough away so as not to be disturbed by them. I'm sure you'll love it down here...we have some spectacular LFS's in our area and having beaches less than an hour away and having reefs less than three hours away is pretty darn cool.

Well, between you and jsl6v8, that would get me to around 40 gallons. I would rather have too much than not enough so only another 10-20 gallons and I am there.

If you can have it mixed up and don't live far, I will have PLENTY of buckets with screw on lids (old Reef Crystals buckets) that you could make another trip with. Just an idea.

cschweitzer, yea, we really liked the area as we looked all over Orlando for a place and stumbled into this one. As far as the beaches, I have relatives that live in Cocoa Beach so I know about that! I will find out about the LFS's when down there!!

8 days and counting!!!!!

You really can never have enough.

Well.....you can. Just have a large turbo snail get caught on an auto topoff valve so it is stuck open......does not take long before you need mops and buckets!!!

Thanks for the offer, I will most likely need it!

Just under 160 hours before I am there!!! Finished up with the garage/moving sale today and we got rid of a lot of stuff!!! Tomorrow I have one little project I've been contracted to do (maple stand for an ice maker machine) then it is full bore packing!

Well, I'll be there in about 68 hours!!!!!!

Please confirm those of you who are in & amount of water you can bring:
Mrs Smith ( ? gallons of water)
sttaylor (~20-25 gallons of water)
taketz
jsl6v8 (~20 gallons of water)

I need 50-60 gallons total at SG of 1.025-1.026

I will be able to check my PM's until tomorrow afternoon and hopefully on Sat night at the hotel in GA.

Target time is 3pm to arrive.

I will also PM all of you.

Thanks sooooooooooo much!!!

20gallons or more tropic marine 1.025 is no problem, sunday at 3 sounds great I was just checking what time myself lol was worried it was earlier morning and I don't really do early morning, I'll be able to do a little help moving stuff in and around as well.

You lucky people you !!!! LOL. He should be on the way there by now. Last night (Fri) I helped move the tank, etc out of the basement ( I know, NO basements down there). He's NOT kidding, the tank IS heavy. At least I convinced him to take the water, rock and sand out first !! And be careful of one very angry Foxface.

Oh, by the way, Grog (Ray) is strange. (He loves when I pop up on this forum and talk about him). Have fun folks, the Doc's on the way !!!

I'd definitely love to help out. I'm not sure how much help I'll be because as I mentioned before my neck is messed up(luckily x-ray showed nothing wrong with the bones or discs). It started feeling better and got tweaked again a couple days ago. Give me a call tomorrow at 4078082212 (10 digit dialing is required here in Orlando) any time after 12pm...I'll help out in any way I can.

Thanks to jsl6v8 and sttaylor for helping out!

Well, got good news and bad news.

The good news is that all the fish and inverts are alive and seem to be doing well. The corals seem alright, but time will tell how well they made it. Still have not fired up the halides so I don't even know if they work (ballasts got wet durring te move)

The bad news is that some of my LR and LS did not make it and my tank is mostly set up, but going through a cycle (ammonia 1.0). The fish, coral and inverts are in temporary holding tanks.

The other bad news is that since the fish and corals are in tanks holding about 50 total gallons of water, I am WAY short to completely fill and run my DT. About 50 gal short. nothing is going to the sump/fuge portion and the main tank is only like 80% full.

The even worse news is that my RO unit has a crack in one of the housings so I cannot make any water. Found this out after hooking it up (after 3 HD trips to get fittings and stuff) and found water everywhere after about 5 minutes!!

The worse news yet is that even if I could make water, I don't have enough salt as I left the full bucket of salt in Chicago and the movers are bringing it next week.

So, I again am in need of salt water. Tomorrow if possible. Probably around 30 gallons or so as I am going to go out and buy some store water and mix what i can with what little salt I have.

If anyone can help, I will be eternally grateful and will gladly repay you at a housewarming party in the very near future. Also I will gladly give you any frags you want once my system is up and running.

Please let me know.

Thanks
