I would not call her onyx, to qualify as onyx she at least need some black connecting between the 2nd & 3rd stripe. I would take a guess & say PNG true perc though...

They keep 5 other fish in line or 5 other percs?!?!

Jov - read the signature - total of 7 percs. It's a lot for a 60 gallon, imo, but they can be kept in groups. Also, she may be relatively young still. The black grows inbetween the stripes, which initially start as orange.

No, I wouldn't call her onyx either. What Jovreefer said about the black between the 2nd and 3rd stripe.

On another note. Is that anemone the same as the one in your "mertens or haddoni" thread? If they are, you should post them. I think the discussion would take a completely different turn.

Yeah, 7 True Percs, and they all get along just fine. Not at first as they needed to decide who the head honcho's were going to be, but now its all good. I'd say the female, which is my largest is about 2 1/2 inches from mouth to tail, so maybe still has some coloring up to do.

Would not be an "onyx" in my book for reason's above.

Nice looking specimen though, congrats :)

PNG = Papua New Guinea

Is that carpet the same as in your "Mertens or Haddoni"? Because if it is, I want to change my vote.

As phender said, its a location percs are collected from. PNG "tend" to have nicer colors than unknown collection location or SI (soloman island) collection locations. I've also noticed most png percs white stripes end in points extending onto the fins. Just an observation... I could be totally off but its still fun to guess.

I'd love to see pics of all your percs together :)

You can't see them all in either of these pics but its the best i have right now.

5 in one 6 in the other as you can see 2 by the net

besides my "main" pair, i definitely have another 2 that seem to be a pair, but they all kind of live together in clown paradise!!

only about 2 weeks, sold all my sps and decided that this was what i enjoyed the most about the hobby! Soon, my sump will house a red haddoni and a pair of TP Snowflakes! Can't wait!

Cartman i saw your tank today and thought i would like to sell some sps and display the anemones more prominently.

Well, i'll take that as a compliment! :) Thanks, best thing i've done in this hobby so far.

Hey Bones,
Not to hijack a thread, but when do we get to see pics of your breeder setup that you managed to get going so soon after your move last month? I mean, wow, only a couple of weeks after a long distance move and it's all up and going. Simply amazing.

Natrium,
not quite sure who you are, is this a new name?

You are correct that I relocated...I've had a place out here for well over 5 months. Just a month ago I sold my house back in MI and had the rest of my family join me..aka fiance and dogs..lol
So please next time come to the table without being rude. My setup as of right now is simple and sweet.. a 12 gallon nano,30 gallon, and two ten gallons. If you want to see pictures of it you would have to send me an email, Scott one of the Mods for this forum may remove it again if I post pictures because people would not stop asking about buying them..

anyways... I like your play on words 'simply amazing'

Sorry about Natrium who has indeed hijacked your thread matt
