I can't do this hobby unless I get a house

You could just setup a nano tank while you are in the apartment to get some reefkeeping experience. Just a suggestion.

im dealing with some near situation since i moved our 2 birds are being very loud all the peopl above next and ajendant< spelling to us have been complaining we are very close to haveing give them back to the person we got them from, all we are waiting for is the management to tell us to, quiet them down or be evicted. unless your management tells you to do so i wouldnt worry too much about impossable people.

I am considering this , maybe something that still fits the foot print of the stand , but shorter than the 45.

I'm not out of the hobby , I just want a safe place to do the hobby.

The point of having a tank was to cure anxiety not to create it.

Anyone have a spare house that I can have?

I'll come by and pick it up tommorrow.

On the serious side , I am looking into foreclosures/hud's , but even at only $50-60k , I'm still going to have a hard time getting the loan.
I'm thinking I'm going to need a better job to get the loan.

BUT it is that important to me , to get out of this apartment. I think it's time to dust off the old college fund and actually use it.

I never could decide what I wanted to go for , so I never went. I still can't decide now.

I'm good with computers , hardware that is.
I'm decent with software.
But I don't think I want to do pc's for a living.
I dunno , hell I guess I could go for auto mechanics , even if I didn't stick with it as a career the knowledge would pay for itself.
I don't like all the pre-requisit courses so I may stick to a trade skill.

Man you sound like I was---I started in mechanical engineering because I love cars and wanted to start a performance shop, then I switched to software engineering because I'm good with computer crap and the money sounded good, then I left college for awhile after 9/11 to do the Army thing, I ended up going back to school for software engineering but felt like the infantry had dumbed me down a bit, so I just finished with an easier business degree and a better GPA. Now I'm in sales.

I said all that to say that you don't have to have your mind made up before you start, I didn't settle on my final major until my junior year. The important thing is that you just finish some kind of higher education, be it technical/trade school or college. The job market blows right now and if you don't have something to differentiate yourself, you're more or less SOL....

Yeah but you're alittle younger than I am ....... atleast you look younger. ;)

So you were smart and got started early , I got off to a lazy start after high school and havn't really changed since. *sigh*

Think of the things you like to do and could make money doing. You will actually be at work after time to go and not realize it. You will have lower stress and enjoy life more. A friend of mine left our department for almost double the pay in Memphis. However, he is now miserable and doesn't know how long he can keep it up. I will take job enjoyment over high pay any day. Also, people who enjoy their job usually advance in pay as their love for the work shows.

It is never too late to start. Find what makes you happy.

Well it took afew more months than I thought it would , but........ I got a really nice house under a mile from Kermits.

House Pic

I got the place in August , but when I got it everything was pink. The carpet , the paint , the counters , everything. So I spent afew months gutting out the whole place , paint , put down some new counters , new flooring , hardwood , tile and carpet.

I love it here. No neighbors banging on my ceiling to turn down my tv. I can finally listen to music again , or watch a movie after 9pm.
And I can finally setup my tank , theres a perfect area where the it fits nicely. pic

I've forgotten what little I had remembered about reefing/saltwater tanks. Gonna have to start reading again to try and get what little I understood back. After I do alittle reading , I think all I lack equipment wise is a protein skimmer , then I'm good to go.
