So I decided I would set up a little 20 gallon tank. Put the sand in, made up some water. Then after a salinity test I decided it was little high at 1.027 so I got a gallon of R/O, then for some reason I guess because the container was sitting right by my R/O container......I added 1 tbsp of kalkwasser! Then I dumped all of it into the 20 gallon tank. Woke up this morning to a complete white out! So mad at myself! Especially because I had put 3 nice pieces of live rock from my big tank in to start it off.
What do I do now? Will all of the bacteria and other life on those rocks be dead? All I have done so far is soaked my white powerhead in vinegar, tested my PH-7.8 ?, ammonia-.25. I thought Ph would be off the chart high, and I guess ammonia was present because I killed life in the rocks?
