help i just setup my 120gl and i got the salt in the water and i just put in 100lbs of live sand and its been sitting there for like 5days now and its still foggy. i was reading that i had to wash the sand fist then put it in ( i did not do that) i just put it in the tank. will it ever clear up. i turned off the pump and its starting to clear but mannnnnnnn i need help what do i do ???????

it's ok.
Fog when you first start up is normal. The sand will ultimately set up layers, coat itself with bacteria, and stay put. It may be this way for days and days, but it's all right. Ultimately bacterial action will cycle the tank AND clear the water.

you can stick on a freshwater pour over filter to clean it up faster if you like.....like a tetra or whisper...the cheapo guys!

if you go that route, make sure to turn off the filter before pulling out the filter pad when the water is clear or you'll likely dump a bunch of the fine particles back in the water!

I dumped a couple hundred pounds of sand in my 125 when I fired it up without washing....and tossed on a 20-40G whisper filter which cleaned it up in about a day and 1/2

i recommend buying filter floss as a filter if you do the hang on the back filter.. you can get a whole bag for real cheap and you can just toss it and keep putting in more
