I dont believe its ICH?!?!?

I have battled ich many times, and I am pretty comfortable identifying it.

I have a powder blue in my q-tank and after 6 weeks of hypo salinity, it now looks to have fin rot and some white pimples that I cant identify. It is very skinny and barely eating. I am thinking about raising the salinity to normal and monitor him? Any ideas?

I am working on getting that pic. The powder blue is getting worse, his gills are now an orangish color and I really don’t think he is going to make it. Since time is running out, I went ahead and changed the carbon, did a water change to increase the salinity and added a poly filter.

Sounds like you had a build up of ammonia if the gills are turning colors. I would think several water changes would take care of the issue as long as the change water is the same salinity, pH, temp.

If you are going to raise the salinity you must do it slowly over several days.
