I dont get it

Ive read tons of posts on here about sandstorms when starting their tanks. I started mine finally last night. Got my LR in, only about 60 lbs or so in a 55 gallon. Turned on my HOB filter, and turned on my excalibur skimmer... Stirred up the sand just to see what would happen..

1 Hour later, I could tell it was going away fast. So I put my seio620 in, pointed it down at the sand from the top corner.... Didnt do much. This morning the tank is perfectly clear.

Does LR really help settling the sand THAT much??? My skimmer is pulling out some light tanish color foam, but that it.

No I have 2 seio 620's, but I may be taking them to a fellow reefers house so he can see what more flow would be like in his tank. Im also waiting on a drill so I can customize the mounting.
My filter is just one that came with my aga 55 gallon. I put the foot part of a pantyhose on the filters themselves to trap smaller particles.

But I did try one of my powerheads. It moved water around, but didnt do anything noticable to the sand.

actually I do lol. I will be As long as they last until june-july, i will probably get 1 or 2 tunze. Just as long as I have good flow... And right now im over 20x turnover.

It's better to get the ones with the controller, Tunze streamers might be too powerful at full speed, the controller will let you dial down the streamers to match your tank.
