Add me to the list of ppl that have lost all their clams to the mystery desease. Foolishly a month ago I pruchased a Crocea clam to add to my tank. I had read the clam thread telling of the deaths and thought, well that won't happen to me. The new crocea died after around two weeks, now today my long kept T. max looks dead and my Squamosa is on it's last leg. Quarantine? No, not me....I'm too smart for that.:hammer:

Has anyone figured out anything about these clam deaths?

3_high_low sorry for your losses. Unfortuneately, there does not seem to be any concrete info. Most of what is known, has been written about here on rc and other boards. Did you get your clam locally, or internet purchase? Once again, sorry for your loss, quarantine is more importaant now than ever. I am quarantining my incoming stock for two weeks before sale, as I hope this will help us all out.

I just tossed the T. max and now the Squamosa is gaping. I'll give that another day or two to live. This zuckks!:sad2:.

Sorry about your lose.

I personally would not re-stock for at least 3 months. I have heard that some people have waited that long and have had no problem since.

Quarantine is always best.

I tossed the Squamosa today. I waited too long, it stunk like marine death. Gonna do a water exchange today. I hooked up a UV sterilizer hoping to kill whatever it was that killed the clams. I guess I should remain clamless for a few months. This really sucks, my other clams were doing so well.:(
