I Finally Finished My Aquascape!

So I got the rest of the rock I ordered and finished my aquascape. In the past I had the plain pile of rocks and with the new tank wanted something much different. In my search to find something I would like I found that there were three basic style elements I really enjoyed lookind at in a tank; arch structures, pillars, and the "bansai" look. I couldn't decide which I liked most so I used all three in my aquascape design, and I must say I am very happy with what I have right now which is a first for me when it comes to aquascapes.

I'm really happy with it so I'm not going to change it, however I'd like to know what others have to say about it.

loving the depth of the rock, esp when you get corals in there they will have plenty of room to grow

+1 i love it. im having a hard time aquascaping my new 45 but i think its just gonna be one big arch.

Alysiak00 I know what you mean when you say having a hard time. What you are looking at is nearly two full weekends of work. Just take your time and you'll come up with something really nice. One thing I would avise is if you do one big arch, be careful with semi-aggressive fish in your tank. At one point in my 120 I had three pillars with a cap on them and it wasn't enough hiding or sleeping area for the fish and in turn my yellow tang went nuts nipping at every other fish I had prior to that he was an angel. So just try to plan fish out well.

i took that into consideration and its going to be the upgrade tank for my present 20gal. the centerpiece is gonna be my massive anemone lol

the problem that i foresee is figuring out a way to move the 20 because thats where the 45 is going lol. also with my aquascape, no matter what i do i HAVE to have some closed caves bc of my porcelain and the cleaner shrimp when they molt

There is a lot of potential for coral placement.

How did you secure the rocks together? You may want to either zip tie, 2 part epoxy, or even drill and use acrylic rods to make sure they don't topple on you and possible scratch, or worse, break the glass. That's what I did and it is VERY solid.

Thanks Matt the rock is epoxied,zip tied, and fibrglass rodded. It ended up being very solid.

I can't wait either!

Hopefully I will get water and sand in it next weekend. Lights will wait until my DIY LEDs get done hopefully thats only a couple more weeks.
