I finally got fish and a question

I finally got brave and purchased 3 small chromis for the tank. Currently they are in QT. I'm hoping that after 5 months that the brooklynella parasite is gone.

My question is concerning sand. The tank has white sand as a substrate, I need to supplement it because when the invertebrates are scooped out of the tank some sand comes up to and eventually gets thrown out when the shelves get cleaned. I have no idea where this sand came from, so it will mean speculation on source, but other than looks does it have to be white sand? What kind of sand should I consider? I don't think live sand is an option since I don't need that much and am looking at long term storage and occasionally adding sand.

Aragonite, medium coarse. (The fine stuff blows.) Caribsea is a good brand, but wash it very, very well to remove powder before use.

Yeah I know, what I have now is really fine and whenever I do anything in the tank it takes forever for the sand to settle.
