I for sure hear clicking noise in my tank

I'd try to locate the rock he's in and get it into the sump. He can be useful there.

I have quite a few in my tanks and I've never seen them do any harm. I don't think a pistol shrimp can kill a crab or snail. They may use empty shells or carapaces though. And yes, even very small pistol shrimp, mine were well under an inch when I got them, can make a loud 'snap' even in 2 feet of water.

I have a clicking noise in my tank as well. Usually makes several clicks together. Have lost crabs but the empty shells aren't crushed. Some have a small hole, some are just empty. When lights are on there are NO crabs around. Only when lights are off do I see them everywhere. Is this normal?

They can be. I once had one and it created a fort out of all of the crab and snail shells that it killed.

My pistol lives with his goby under the largest rock in the tank. I thought they made a great team...until I moved the rock to clean and found a graveyard of snails and crab shells. I guess every neighborhood has a Manson family living in it...
