I found this nudibranch when I got home

Anyone know if this is a safe nudibranch? It looks like a crispata to me but the one I had disappeared a while ago.

If it's a pest type I'm worried, after my vacation I've got red planaria like mad now too.

I can't ID it for good, but all the nudis I've seen with that shape and coloration have been harmless algae-eaters. It looks like it's a sea lettuce or something.

I couldn't tell from the first pic, but yes, it's a sacoglossan sea slug rather than nudibranch. It's an algae eater.

Cheers,

Don

I found a second one this morning, the first was twice the size of this one. I wish they were crispata babies that would be awesome.

I had one as a hitchhiker too. My lfs keeps corals in a big tank with live rock in the sump, there were lettuce nudis in the coral tank that bred and the young got down through to the sump. Must have died soon after introducing as I never saw it again

Seeing these little guys excites me. The hair algae is pretty much gone, I got some weird green growth in my rocks. I have coralline growing on the glass and the pineapple sponges are decreasing. I do have planaria all over everything but as long as they don't hurt anything I may leave them or get a fish to eat them.
