I got a free mantis today

went up to eddies today and they had this cute little bright green mantis. I asked how much and they told me free. I swear I think i am the only person who loves these little guys. now I have 9 of them total.

yet another person with no clue about Mantis shrimp.......

Do some research on this board or online about the truth of mantis' breaking through tanks........

no they can't break glass. a peacock can do come damage but the myth is false

they are great critters to have. my one stays in my 30 gallon with my turbo snails, green crabs, and 6 fish and I have no problems with him at all.

They have been known to break glass tanks back in the day when they used thin plate glass (we're talking a long time ago). These days, if even possible, it would have to be a huge mantis that is really PO'd. But I too have never heard of a recent incident of this happening.
