Newest literature suggest 76 days fallow..... I figure if you're gonna do 72 might as well do 76. [emoji1]. Anytime I buy a new coral I put it into my frag tank I start the entire 76 day fallow period over before anything moves to DT.

And I would still suggest doing TTM even if it stresses the fish more..... I've saved several fish with large open sores after ich with TTM. I notice the fish aren't stressed anymore after the first or second transfer and by that time the ich is noticeable going away.

Also, I live by seachem StressGaurd and ParaGaurd. I dose both the entire time I'm doing TTM. These two products simply work wonders. It still amazes me how fast open ulcer and rotted find will grow back with this stuff. And if you're doing TTM in 5 gal buckets like I do then you only need about half cap full of each everyday. (Once wounds are heading and fish isn't stressed I usually do doses every 2-3 days)

Yes TTM is labor intensive and costs a bit, but it's a nice trade off knowing you aren't killing your fish with harsh chemicals. I had a new blenny with ich once and by the third transfer (9 days), all symptoms were gone. I'm sure he appreciated being able to use the full capacity of his gills after this short amount of time rather than waiting 6 weeks.
