I got lucky!! now what??

I would recommend plugging this hole. Reason being that if power was lost to the return pump. The tank will siphon all the water from the tank to the sump up to that point. (unless you use a backflow valve) But to me not worth the risk. :eek2:

so if that is the return, then the other two would be strictly for circulation? if so, the return and the other two would be run off of two diff. pumps? and would it be beneficial to keep it, even if I use a backflow? I really have a desire this time around to not skimp on flow , and if I can, not use any additional pumps inside the DT as to not litter with cords and take up precious space  is that possible?

The left and right are definitely returns. keep that configuration.
The center opening appears to be used as an additional return with possibly an additional return pump.

Since you didn't have additional plumbing and an extra pump. He might have used the rio pump inside the overflow just pushing water back in the tank?? That would be my guess.

yeah, actually it's the angle of the camera, but it's just a wider 55, just a few inches shorter, but makes up for it in width- perfect for my 2nd floor apartment, and I promise, fellow reefers, that what will come of this will NOT be a disappointment! but first, I must... put.... together..... lol:reading:

Ok so the only way I could see it working is if you ran the locline back up and then slightly down in an S pattern to create a siphon break and you could still use the 3rd hole that way. IMO close loop for flow would be better tho! If you dont want the wires or powerheads for a "cleaner" look!

Thank you all for your advice, and offers in assisting me with this tank- with the help of jomskie, aka reggie, we, or I should say HE, put the tank together, and showed me how it's done lol I will take some pictures of the tank, and get em posted asap. along with the thread build!
