I got lucky..

Was feeding the tank last night when I saw something dart out of the center of my Acanthastrea.
Sure enough it was a small mantis.

He was tucked in a hole right in the center of it so no way I was going to be able to dip it to get him out without hurting the coral.

I moved the coral to my refugium and called a couple buddies from the LFS.
We drank a couple of beers as we tried to figure out how we were going to get that little bugger out of there without hurting the coral.

Plan A.

A hypo salinity syringe into the hole and inject it right at him.

Worked like a charm.

Heââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s a cute little guy some kind of smasher species about 1ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ long but no clue about what kind.

He is in a Tupperware bowl atm while I decide what to do with him.

I might keep it, if not I will see who might want him.

Anyhow I got real lucky as the only thing he has killed is a few hermits and snails.

Lol oh BTW I think I owe some of my hermits an apology as I have been blaming them for the empty snail shells for a while now.

I decided I am not going to keep the Mantis is there anyone here from the Twin Cities area that might want him?

PS he is a small smasher type kind of pale green atm nothing fancy.
